Do The Dare

Have you ever been dared to do something? When you were a child or teen did your friends ever dare you to go talk to that special person that caught your eye, jump off the highest rope swing into river below, or…“fill in the blank”. Some dares are silly and some are unwise, but every dare has this one thing in common, to move you out of your comfort zone into the unknown. When we take a dare, we have no idea what the outcome will be, we don’t know if we will succeed or fail, but we take the bet, we do the dare.

Why? Because there is something in the power of the “Dare.” It’s one thing for a friend say, “Hey, go talk to that person, that boss, that client,” until they say, “I dare you.” All of a sudden, in an instant, the atmosphere shifts, the mindset changes and a new perspective reveals itself. All of a sudden, in an instant, a task that was met with fear and failure shifts to a goal to be achieved, a prize to be won, in the form of a “Challenge” and a “What if…”

Kingdom Creative, keep in mind that resistance can take on many forms. Some resistance takes on the form of Fear, while others take on the form of “Challenge.” Either way, the resistance remains the same, and obstacle to be met or an obstacle to be avoided. The issue is never the fear, the issue is the obstacle. Whether it be a blank canvas to paint, or new piece of paper to draw on, a new technique try or new skill set to be developed, the obstacle is always the way. You were never created to carry fear and failure, you were created to meet resistance, to accept the “Challenge” and find the answer to “What if…” Today, right now or this weekend, set up a new canvas, take out a new piece of paper, prepare the paints, pencils and brushes and give yourself the grace to imagine filling that space with what you see in your minds eye. Go ahead…I’ll wait, I DARE YOU!
